Eating Right for Your Blood Type: A Guide to Food Choices Based on the Blood Type Diet

Eating according to your blood type is a unique approach that claims to optimize digestion, energy, and inflammation management. Based on Dr. Peter J. D’Adamo’s Blood Type Diet, each blood type—O, A, B, and AB—thrives on specific foods while struggling with others. This diet proposes that eating foods aligned with your blood type helps improve health, reduce inflammation, and enhance digestion.

For Blood Type O, a high-protein, low-carb diet rich in lean meats, leafy greens, and fish is recommended, with grains and dairy minimized. Adding cherry juice or cherry capsules can be beneficial for reducing inflammation and promoting joint health.

Blood Type A individuals do best with a primarily plant-based diet, incorporating plenty of organic vegetables, whole grains, and legumes. Cherry juice or capsules are also great for managing inflammation naturally, especially if joint pain is a concern.

For Blood Type B, a balanced diet with some dairy, lean meats, and certain fruits and vegetables works best. However, avoid chicken.

Type AB combines elements of both A and B, with a focus on light proteins, leafy greens, and fish.

Whether you’re adding cherry juice for inflammation, prioritizing lean proteins, or limiting dairy, tailoring your diet to your blood type may help you feel your best. Always consult with a healthcare provider before starting any new diet.
