Cherry Juice and Melatonin Facts

On By Traverse Bay Farms / 0 comments
The Montmorency tart cherry is the largest variety of cherries grown in the U.S. The cherry juice contains 13.5 nanograms (ng) of melatonin per gram (Burkhardt 2001). Melatonin is naturally producted by the pineal gland which is located at the apex of the brain. Research suggests not only does melatonin help to maintain health sleep patterns but it may also help to support a healthly vascular system and more (Tan 2000, Lissoni 1997).
