National Margarita Day and National Tortilla Chip Day Recipes

Cherry MaragritaDid you know February has two highly celebrated holidays with these holidays being only two day apart? February 22 is National Margarita Day, while the 24th is National Tortilla Chip Day. To celebrate the The ingredient list for the sweet cherry maragrita, all of these ingredients can be varied and made to test:

Sweet Cherry Margarita

10 - 12 sweet Cherries - Since February is not a month where you'll find fresh cherries, you can use frozen cherries that have been thawed 2 - 3 tablespoons. Tequila - preferablity Blanco 1 oz. Lime juice - preferably fresh 1 - 1 1/2 tablespoons Agave nectar - preferable dark 2 tablespoons of maraschino cherry liqueur, or to taste Step #1: Place the thawed cherries in a cocktail shaker and mash them until well crushed. Step #2: Add the tequila, lime juice, agave nectar and liqueur Step #3: Shake and strain into rock glass containing ice cubes Make 2 servings

Tart Cherry Maragrita

12 - 14 tart cherries - Since February is not a month where you'll find fresh cherries, you can use frozen cherries that have been thawed 1/3 cup of Tequila - Blanco 1/2 ounce of Cherry Juice Concentrate - Fruit Advantage tart cherry juice concentrate Pinch of sugar used to sprinkle in mixture 1 - 1 1/2 oz. Lime juice - preferably fresh 2 tablespoons Agave nectar - preferable dark 3 tablespoons of maraschino cherry liqueur, or to taste Step #1: Place the thawed cherries in a cocktail shaker and mash them until well crushed. Step #2: Add all ingredients together including tequila, lime juice, cherry juice concentrate, agave nectar and liqueur Step #3: Shake and strain into rock glass containing ice cubes Step#4: Sprinkle sugar and swirl with spoon Now that we have a few great tasting margarita recipes, let's turn our attention to the tortilla chip. Tortilla Chip Ideas

Black Bean Nachos

– Generously spoon black bean salsa over tortilla chips, sprinkle cheddar cheese, place in microwave or place in oven to bake.

 Red Raspberry Salsa and Crab Nachos

– Grab a handful of the tortilla chips, add imitation crab meat and sprinkle with cheddar cheese. Place in microwave for 1 minute. Add red raspberry salsa to taste.
