Cherry Almond Clusters Recipe

Chef’s Note (Firsthand Experience)

This recipe has become one of our go-to treats at Traverse Bay Farms events. The toasted almonds add a warm, nutty crunch, while the Dried Tart Cherries bring a tangy burst that balances the chocolate’s sweetness. We often make a few batches at a time — they’re perfect for gifts, parties, or a late-night snack with a glass of milk.

Prep & Yield

  • Prep Time: 10 minutes

  • Cook Time: 5 minutes

  • Chill Time: 30 minutes

  • Yield: 24 clusters

Ingredients

  • 1 (8-ounce) package semisweet baking chocolate

  • 1 cup slivered almonds, toasted

  • 1 cup Traverse Bay Farms Dried Tart Cherries

Instructions

  1. Place chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on High (100%) for about 2 minutes, stirring halfway through.

  2. Stir until smooth and fully melted.

  3. Add toasted almonds and dried cherries; mix until everything is evenly coated in chocolate.

  4. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto waxed paper-lined baking sheets.

  5. Refrigerate until firm, about 30 minutes.

To toast almonds: Spread almonds on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 350°F for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Chef’s Tips & Variations

  • Use white or dark chocolate for flavor variety.

  • Add a sprinkle of sea salt on top before chilling for a gourmet finish.

  • Stir in a teaspoon of Traverse Bay Farms Tart Cherry Juice Concentrate before coating for extra cherry intensity.
