Cherry Flyer Drink Recipe - Traverse Bay Farms

Chef's Note

We first made this drink on one of those 85° Northern Michigan days when the orchards were in full bloom. The mix of cherry and pineapple gave us that island flavor without leaving the farm. It is sweet, tangy, and creamy all at once — and it disappears fast once poured over ice!

Prep and Yield

  • Prep Time: 10 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings (6 ounces each)

Ingredients

For the Cherry Flyers

  • ½ cup (about 14) maraschino cherries, drained
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1 (8-ounce) container cherry yogurt
  • 1¾ cups whipped topping (about ½ of an 8-ounce container), thawed
  • ¾ cup pineapple juice
  • Maraschino cherries and fresh pineapple, for garnish

Instructions

1

In an electric blender, combine cherries, orange juice, yogurt, whipped topping, and pineapple juice.

2

Blend 1–2 minutes, or until smooth.

3

Serve over ice in tall glasses.

4

Garnish each with a maraschino cherry and a slice of pineapple.

Chef's Tips and Variations

  • Add 1 tablespoon of Traverse Bay Farms Tart Cherry Juice Concentrate for a richer cherry flavor and natural color boost.
  • Turn it into a smoothie bowl by reducing juice and topping with granola and fresh cherries.
  • Swap whipped topping for coconut cream for a dairy-free version.
