What is a Serving Size for Select Food Groups

In the following few posts I share information regarding the American Dietetic Association food exhange. This information will allow you to check out serving sizes from a variety of food groups and then learn what foods choices within the group so you can chose to make a single serving. Use this information to enjoy a healthy longer lifestyle and lose weight naturally.   Category: Vegetables A single serving of vegetables contains 25 calories and 5 grams of carbohydrate. Here are a variety of foods that one serving equals:
  • ½ Cup- Cooked vegetables (Cabbage, broccoli, zucchini, carrot, corn etc.)
  • 1 Cup of raw vegetables or salad greens
  • ½ Cup of Vegetable juice an excellent choice for vegetable juice is V8
One of the benefits of vegetables is if you are still a little hungry after you eat a single serving, feel free to enjoy some more.
